New Citizens Welcomed at Naturalization Ceremony at FAMU Law

ORLANDO, Fla - United States District Judge Carlos Mendoza presided over the U.S. Naturalization ceremony and administered the oath to 20 new citizens from 14 different countries. The citizenship program took place at the Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Law.
Florida State Representative Anna Eskamani offered inspiring remarks, and third-year law student Joi Cardwell sang a beautiful rendition of the national anthem.
“It was an honor for the FAMU Legal Clinic to host this truly moving naturalization ceremony and to welcome these new citizens to the community,” said Clinic Director and Associate Professor Mark Dorosin.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services coordinated the Oath of Allegiance for the program. The naturalization ceremony is the culmination of the naturalization process.
