FAMU Law Hosts Workshop for Small-and-Minority-Owned Business and Nonprofits

ORLANDO, Fla – Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Law will host an Economic Justice for All panel discussion and workshop on Wednesday, November 16, at 7 p.m. The workshop, to be held at 201 FAMU Law Lane, room 240, in Orlando, seeks to introduce the news Economic Justice Clinic, which will help small-and minority-owned businesses and nonprofits with legal issues.

This is an opportunity for business startups, existing businesses, and nonprofits to gain important information about the legal issues the Economic Justice Clinic will work on, including contract and lease drafting, tax exemption and compliance, employment issues, financing, fundraising, public policy advocacy, regulatory issues and more.

FAMU Law students will share their recent experiences helping businesses and nonprofits while serving as Economic Justice Fellows funded by Wells Fargo Bank, NA. Students will also connect with potential business clients in attendance. Clinic Director and Professor of Law Mark Dorosin is the scheduled moderator for the program that will help launch the official opening of the Economic Justice Legal Clinic, which will begin offering free legal services to businesses and nonprofits in January 2023.

This event is open to the public. Members of the business community are strongly encouraged to attend.
