What is a virtual ceremony?

A virtual ceremony has many of the same components as a live ceremony. In exchange for walking across the stage to accept your diploma, we create a slide with your photo, degree, honors and any personalized messages you provide.

What if I don’t want to attend the fully virtual ceremony?

If you do not wish to participate in a virtual ceremony, we invite you and all eligible graduates to attend the in-person ceremony that will be held at a later date that has yet to be determined. Your name will still be called during the virtual ceremony even if you do not submit a photo or personalized message.

How do I submit my photo and personalized message?

Details will be coming soon on how to submit your information for the virtual ceremony.

I already ordered regalia, but I plan on attending the virtual ceremony now. Do I still need it?

If you want to keep your regalia for photos, as a souvenir of your accomplishment (or for virtual viewing parties) you are able to do so, but it is not required. If you plan on also attending the rescheduled in-person ceremony, you are advised to keep your regalia, as it will be needed at that time. Otherwise, Herff Jones will accept returns for unopened regalia.

When will I receive information on the rescheduled in-person ceremony?

We are monitoring the unfolding public health situation to determine a new date. Once we have confirmed the date, we will send out an email to eligible graduates for that ceremony.

Will I be able to participate in the in-person ceremony if I participate in the virtual ceremony?

Yes, participating in the virtual ceremony will not exclude you from participating ninth in-person ceremony.
