FAMU COLLEGE OF LAW PARTICIPATES IN ELECTION PROTECTION ACTIVITIES
ON ELECTION DAY
ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University’s (FAMU) College of Law joins the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law to support the Election Protection program on November 6, Election Day. The Election Protection Orlando Command Center will be based out of FAMU College of Law. FAMU Law students and professors will assist by working the phones, transporting voters to the polls, working the lines at polling places, or other tasks as assigned.
Election Protection is the country’s largest and longest-running non-partisan voter protection program and consistently has been a part of law firms’ pro bono programs since 2004.
Nationwide more than 4000 lawyers and close to 100 of the nation’s top law firms and corporate legal departments will be involved in the Election Protection program, led by the national Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, to help provide support for voters this election season.
This is a NON-PARTISAN effort in conjunction with the Lawyers’ Committee on Civil Rights, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the American Civil Liberties Union to protect the voting rights of Florida residents.
