ORLANDO, Fla – A 17- year veteran of Florida A&M University (FAMU) College of Law was recognized by ONYX Magazine as one of the 2020 Women on the Move honorees.
FAMU Law Director of Alumni Affairs and Development Mildred Graham received her award at a ceremony on Friday, February 28, at the Alfond Inn in Winter Park.
ONYX Magazine’s fifth annual Women on the Move (WOTM), with Founding Member Orlando Health, recognized some of Florida’s most impactful and influential black women.
“I’m honored to be recognized for the work I am doing to embrace the mission of FAMU Law in our community,” said Graham. “To be recognized with a host of other powerful women who are making a difference here in Central Florida makes it even more special.”
ONYX Magazine is excited to collaborate with its sponsors to present these phenomenal women—trailblazers who are leading major businesses to succeed on national and international levels in several professional disciplines.
“These powerful and innovative achievers are contributors to a thriving economy every day,” said Richard “Rich” E. Black, ONYX Magazine’s Publisher, CEO and Editor-in-chief. “Our sponsors and other supporters are pivotal to making Women on the Move one of the most prestigious events to recognize women across Florida.”
About FAMU College of Law
The FAMU College of Law is located in the heart of Downtown Orlando, just steps from the George C. Young United States Courthouse and Federal Building; and blocks from governmental offices, major law firms, large corporations and legal service agencies.
The college’s prime location provides students with direct access to the area’s largest employers of individuals with law degrees, offering our students and graduates ample avenues to gain practical experience in the legal profession.
With tuition among the lowest of the 13 law schools in Florida, along with a full-time day program and a part-time evening program, the college is distinctly positioned to offer the traditional student and the working professional a chance to earn a law degree while accruing minimal debt.
Thanks to its renowned faculty, the college focuses on academic excellence in the classroom; emphasizes practical experience and public service within its clinical programs; and stresses professionalism through its co-curricular activities.
