Student Bar Association

Hello Rattlers for Justice,

This is your Student Bar Association President for the 2022-2023 school year. Allow me to start off by first giving a huge welcome to the incoming 1L class. This new journey that you are about to embark on is not going to be easy, but it is going to be worth it. You are here today because of something you believed in, and you held on to that belief to be in this moment. You are a pillar for change and that journey did not begin in law school, instead the drive that you have is something that is engrained within your DNA.

This first year of law school will be one of the most memorable years of your life.

Law school is unlike anything you have experienced before. Be sure to remain steadfast in your vision and to constantly remind yourself you are destined for greatness.

Your main objective as a law student should be to always operate in excellence so that your integrity will never be questioned.

I want to share this quote by William Shakespeare:

“Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.”

The phrase means that doubts can keep us from attempting to do something that could potentially have a great outcome in the future. Sometimes, doubts can stop us before we even begin to act.

When you feel like giving up or that feeling of self-doubt begins to echo, remember, there are thousands of people who hope to be in law school one day. You all, are the chosen few.

Be organized, be willing to think outside the box, be prepared to take risk. Law school is a place for critical thinking.

Finally, buckle in and enjoy the ride because in the blink of an eye you will be graduating from law school.

With Rattler Pride,
