As stated in your offer letter, admission was contingent upon satisfactory completion of your undergraduate education. Consequently, you are required to submit to the law school’s Office of Admissions an OFFICIAL copy of your FINAL transcript from your undergraduate degree-granting institution, evidencing the award of your undergraduate degree. This is also an American Bar Association requirement.
FAMU COL Final Transcript Policy:
“October 1 of each year is the deadline date for students to submit official transcripts. If the deadline is not met, the student shall be dismissed.”
ABA Standard 502: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A law school shall require for admission to its J.D. degree program a bachelor’s degree that has been awarded by an institution that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. Within a reasonable time after a student registers, a law school shall have on file the student’s official transcripts verifying all academic credits undertaken and degree(s) conferred.
As time is of the essence, please contact the Office of Admissions and Recruitment as soon as possible if you foresee any transcript issues. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
