Ka’Juel J. Washington brings a wealth of trial experience to the Florida A&M University College of Law. As a graduate of the Inaugural Class, Mr. Washington was the first clinical student to conduct and win a criminal jury trial. After graduation, he worked as an associate in a transactional and corporate law firm. In 2007, he returned to the College of Law as the Staff Attorney in the Legal Clinics Department.
As the Staff Attorney, Mr. Washington has had a number of successes. He settled the clinics first civil suit for monetary damages and conducted the Homelessness Clinic’s first deposition. Mr. Washington was featured in the local news media as the attorney of record in the Emanuella Bizyaremye case and coached the first BLSA mock trial team to advance to the national competition.
Mr. Washington is currently responsible for the Homelessness and Legal Advocacy Clinic, which closes over 100 cases every year. His J.D. and B.A. degrees are from Florida A&M University.
