Gierke is a former Chief Judge and current Senior Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. Previously, Judge Gierke served as a Visiting Professor and Distinguished Jurist in Residence as well as an adjunct instructor at the Barry University School of Law in Orlando. He also served as a Justice on the North Dakota Supreme Court. Gierke received his J.D. and B.A. from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.
