Professor Dawson joined the College of Law from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, where she taught clinical and legal writing courses.  In Houston, Professor Dawson served as an Associate Municipal Court Judge presiding over misdemeanor offenses.  At FAMU Law, Professor Dawson teaches elder law and torts.  She is the former director of the legal methods program.  Professor Dawson has a J.D. degree from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law and a B.A. degree from Southwest Texas State University.
